About Me

My photo
I am Miss Texas International 2011. I was recently crowned in San Antonio, Texas on March 13th, 2011. I also won the Fitness & Interview award. This experience is one of the most exhilirating and amazing accomplishments I have ever achieved. I was born and raised in the great city of Dallas,Texas. My platform is "Preventing Child Obesity" and I have dedicated my reign to educate parents and children about the importance of healthy food choices. Educating children at a young age about the importance of eating right is a significant part of my life; which is why I continue to reach out to new organizations providing new ideas to help prevent child obesity. I am available for appearances, attend special presentations and assist with civic and non-profit oriented projects. To schedule an appearance, contact the State Office, at 210.403.0589 and ask for Kristin Koether, Executive State Director. Inner beauty if a very important part of my beliefs; my favorite quote that reminds me of that everyday is "Beauty cannot be seen or even touched, it must be felt with the heart" Thanks for visiting my page!

WFAA Family First Day at the Dallas Zoo

Giraffe's, Elephants, Monkeys, OH MY!! You guessed it, I was at the Dallas Zoo! WFAA-Channel 8, State Farm Insurance, Target and local Law Enforcement gathered at the Dallas Zoo for National Night Out.

Once I arrived, I signed autographs and introduced the representatives from the various companies and organizations that made this event a success. There were a great group of animal characters available for photos with the children as well.

It was a great event; one I was honored to be a part of that day!

American Heart Association Youth Forum

On September 26th, 2009 I had the privilege of speaking on the National Youth Forum Panel hosted by the American Heart Association. I was joined by four wonderful teens who spoke about their challenges to eat healthy today as well as their ideas on how to make healthier food choices. They also shared with our audience the best ways to stay active to maintain a healthy body and feel energetic.

We had the great pleasure to have WFAA reporter Jim Douglas join us for this national forum. We appreciate his support in promoting Heart Healthy Awareness.

The American Heart Association has developed a for kids by kids program, "EmpowerMe" to guide children and young teens to a healthier lifestyle.

Thank you to all those who came out to support the AHA!

Couture & The Cure

We have all heard and some believe the saying, "God works in myserious ways". Well, he never ceases to amaze me each day. I met a wonderful lady and designer by the name of Tameca Hodges who has dedicated a portion of her own time to a fashion line that benefits the Susan G. Komen foundation. She invited me to participate as a "pink carpet" host for her Couture & The Cure Fashion show in September.

I felt so honored to be a part of a great cause to help prevent breast cancer. It certainly hit home for me when I read her letter about the fashion show. I have a grandmother and a cousin on separate sides of my family who are both breast cancer survivors. It is a blessing to have them both in my life and I have no idea what I would do without either one of them. My grandmother is a 21 year survivor this month and I can't imagine 21 seconds without her presence, love, generosity and smile that she has shared with me throughout the years.

The event took place at the beautiful Dallas Arboretum in September. The models were amazing, the designs were awesome and I couldn't ask to be a part of a greater event! Thank you to everyone who supports the breast cancer awareness funds.

Building Inner Beauty Pageant

On Saturday, August 22, 2009 I had the pleasure of attending and assisting with the ICO Building Inner Beauty Pageant. This event was hosted by Crissy Garcia; who is the founder of BIB and has a true passion for young girls and women to build inner beauty.

There was a great turn-out with about 30 girls and ladies who participated in several different activities to build confidence and reveal their inner beauty to themselves. I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Rosie Rouse who is a dear friend and wonderful Mary Kay Director. Rosie was such a blessing from God as she was able to teach the women how to properly take care of their outter beauty and recognize their inner beauty as well.

The girls and women who participated in the pageant were voted on by their peers to determine the finalists and the winner!

It was my pleasure to be a part of such a great event! I look forward to the future BIB pageants!

WIRED- Zip Line Challenge

I had my first adventure of zip lining this past weekend at WIRED in Canton, Texas. Although I was worried the weather was determined to keep us from enjoying this experience ,we made it through just in time. It rained on us all the way from Dallas to Canton and sprinkled on and off for about an hour after we arrived. Cindy and Shirley were there with all their wonderful guides prepared to take us on this awesome zip line challenge course.

We started this challenge with the help of the awesome guides who assisted with our harness's, helmet and glove gear. After we were all geared up (literally) we went over to ground school to learn the proper way to sit in the harness and how to stop yourself when your guide tells you too. Although it was the first time for everyone to try this in our group, I seemed to need a little extra practice, hey! third time is a charm, right?! Once we completed ground school and received our Wired wings we climbed up the tallest tower to start our journey through the zip line course. The first line was so exhilirating and made me anxious for the next one! We went on to zip the longest line in Texas and another one over a swampy area where I got to see a beaver! Then I approached the end and was sent down to zip the last line that completed my challenge.

We had such an amazing time at WIRED! The guides were all so very helpful and entertaining to say the least. Visit their website at www.ziptheusa.com for more information about the zip line challenge!
